Learn more about our tiny but mighty developer studio and the story behind Flow.
Our Story
We're a team of three, Lea, Leif and Stefan, living in Germany. We initially released Flow 2018 only for Mac because we wanted to have a well-designed and user-oriented Pomodoro-based focus timer during our time at university and couldn't find an alternative that met our needs.
Slowly but surely, more and more people around the world started using Flow. Since Flow was initially just a passion project for us, we didn't monetize it until the end of 2020, and until then we developed it entirely in our spare time, while we studied and pursued our jobs.
Today, we're grateful to be able to make a living making products we love and to continue Flow's journey with our tiny development company called Yugen.
What our users and we ourselves love most about Flow is its simplicity and minimal interface. We prioritize design and usability above all else. We go to great lengths to keep Flow as simple and beautiful as we can. And simplicity takes enormous time and effort. Although we will continue to add new features and develop the app to its full potential, Flow will always keep its minimalistic approach.
A Small Company With Heart
We're an independent company with no plans of being acquired. Unlike most tech startups today, we've avoided investors to stay independent, grow organically, and build a sustainable business without any outside pressure.
We want our decisions to remain user-oriented and vision-based, not money-driven. That's what sets us apart from other companies and products, and that's the trust our users placed in us over the years.
Feedback & Development
We value your opinions and we listen to you. Every day we receive wonderful messages from users sharing their feedback and suggestions with us. We believe that listening to feedback and connecting with our users is what makes Flow great and really helps us evolve.
We are not perfect, and there will be bugs sometimes. But we address those issues and bugs immediately. We gather feature requests, think them through, and implement them if they are a good fit. We truly want to make Flow the best focus timer experience for you.
